The SVCA Patriots earned first place in the Northern District of the VACA by defeating the Riverfront Rams by a score of 3-0. The Patriots didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard, scoring in just the first five minutes of the game. SVCA midfielder Lee Runion took the first corner kick of the game. The Junior placed a low-driven ball across the top of the six yard box that fellow midfielder Ethan McGann was able to head into the right corner of the net. McGann's goal proved to be the game winning goal. SVCA continued to dictate the pace of the game but the Rams defense was able to keep the Patriots out of the net until the 70th minute. Lee Runion once again played a corner kick just above the 6 yard box. The ball bounced around and the Rams were unable to clear the ball. Junior midfielder Nick Franks took advantage of the opportunity and poked the ball past the Rams goalkeeper for his first goal of the season giving the Patriots some breathing room. Zach Nemec put the game out of reach when he scored at the 78th minute. Lee Runion recorded his second assist of the game by playing a perfectly slotted ball to the slashing Nemec giving him a 1v1 with the goalie. The senior calmly pushed the ball passed the keeper to make it 3-0

The Patriots outshot the Rams 11-4. SVCA netminder Nathan Steve continued his dominant performance giving up just 2 goals all season in conference play.
